Our Story

Elizabeth Verwey is a seasoned entrepreneur who helps business owners manage their business more effectively so they can fully enjoy both life and work. With extensive experience growing businesses and charities, Elizabeth helps businesses owners reach their goals and dreams.

Since establishing Office Mentors in 1997 she has helped thousands of clients in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond gain perspective on their challenges and priorities, and take concrete action to improve how they operate their businesses day to day.

Corporations have their executive teams, boards of directors, consultants and staff. Entrepreneurs often have only one person to turn to: themselves. As market cycles continue to compress and accelerate, the challenges can be overwhelming.

Elizabeth steps in to change this situation. She has a mountain of ideas to share from her work with entrepreneurs in diverse industries, plus a virtual team to support your business, and a proven record of innovative solutions. Through one-to-one consultations, weekly mentoring, or workshops and seminars, she helps people clarify their priorities, identify quick wins, map out action steps, and follow through on their plans.

Elizabeth has written three books. The Mentors Circle is an informative guide to help entrepreneurs and others form business growth groups. Business Wills is a workbook that helps business owners plan for the future, maximize their assets and minimize the mess should they be unable to continue. My Business Ate my Life: A Recovery Plan is an is print and audio book that offers solid business advice with concepts that will support people make lasting changes in their work-life balance.

Elizabeth regularly challenges herself to let go of the fears that no longer serve her. She has overcome her fear of heights, sharks, and foods that are unfamiliar to her. This warm and dynamic presenter has hands-on experience in retail management, education, charities and juggling work and family. Elizabeth has a range of topics to choose from Рchoose a workshop that best suits your team today. She was a professional member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers for over a decade.

In 2015, Elizabeth founded a speaker series called Spoken Lives: Stories Women Share. Over 200 speakers have shared their stories of resilience on that platform. Now, in Your Applause Academy, her three-part online course, she’s teaching others how to 1) Plan Your Series, 2) Launch Your Series and 3) Earn with Your Series. It’s a great way to build a community around a topic you care about. Your Applause Academy is packed with insider knowledge that only she can share after successfully adding a business layer to her passion project.
